How can I access the New York Times?

Answer

The Library no longer has the New York Times Online education program, which lets the SDSU community (current students, staff, faculty) have a personalised subscription to the New York Times online, as of 12/31/25.

The Library still has access to the majority of the content from The New York Times content through different interfaces with several database providers, such as ProQuest Central.

Some of the digitally born content may be found under a different publication title, such as the New York Times (Online), so I would suggest searching ProQuest Central for specific articles using the article title.

Due to budgetary pressures from inflation and in preparation for budgetary reductions to the University Operating Fund, the SDSU Library has made reductions to its ongoing collections budget by eliminating subscriptions. More information about the resources that were discontinued in FY 25/26, please see the 2025/2026 Collection Changes page.
