Can I reserve a room for myself?

Are there reservable library rooms for personal use?

Answer

Single-Use Rooms

The University Library offers Single-Use Rooms to provide a quiet space for virtual job interviews, telehealth appointments, presentation practice, and attending Zoom classes. The rooms are equipped with a chair, table, and power. Computers and similar technology are not provided. We encourage users to use headphones to preserve privacy and reduce noise in the surrounding spaces.

How to Reserve

Anyone with an SDSUid can access the rooms by making a reservation online. https://library.sdsu.edu/spaces/reserve-study-room#single-use-room

When your reservation time comes, stop by the Circulation Desk under the Dome entrance to check out the key with your SDSUid. Then, head up to the 4th floor to access the room.

The Single-Use Rooms are located on the 4th floor of Love Library in the southwest corner of the building.

Policies:

  • Reservations are required to use the Single-Use Rooms. Rooms can be reserved up to 2 hours and are reserved online
    • A reservation confirmation email will be sent to your SDSUid email address. Save the confirmation email as it will be used to verify your room reservation
    • Reservation can be made up to 120 days in advance
    • A person can make a maximum of 4 reservations per week
    • Those without a valid reservation will be asked to vacate the room.
  • Keys can be checked out from the Circulation Desk for 2 hours. All keys must be returned to the Circulation Desk at the end of a reservation
    • Please return the key as a courtesy to others if you do not plan on using the room for the full checkout period
    • Users may only have one Single-Use Room key checked out at a time
    • A $75.00 billing fee will be assessed, and a hold may be placed on your academic record, for any unreturned or lost keys.
    • Single-use room keys may not be duplicated
  • Single-Use Rooms are limited to one person only because the room is very small. If two or more users attempt to use the room, the reservation will be denied or canceled.
  • The library is not responsible for personal materials left in the rooms
  • Please shut the door when using the room
  • When done with using the room, please clean up and leave it as you found it
  • Library staff reserve the right to refuse the use of the room and inspect the room during a reservation
