Q. Where can I Zoom in the library?

I need to take part in an online class, is there a space to do this in the library?

Answer

The library does not have single-person study rooms for students needing to take part in online classes. There are however many areas in the library that are appropriate for wearing headphones and speaking in a normal voice while contributing to online class discussion. Headphones are available to check out from the Library Circulation Desk (down the stairs from the Library Dome Entrance).

Some of these areas are:

  • Floors 3 & 4 in the older Love Library building. There are tables and study carrels located throughout the book stacks, many of these have access to electrical outlets. These floors are not designated as quiet study.
  • The Laptop Lounge, and Digital Humanities Center study space in the basement level under the Library Dome have electrical outlets and allow for talking in a normal voice.
  • Computers in Cluster 9 of the Research Services Area (down the stairs from the Library Dome entrance) have been prioritized for students taking online classes. This area is not designated a quiet study space.
