Q. Can I use the library to find obituaries for my genealogy research?

Can I use the library to find an obituary for my genealogy research?

The SDSU Library does subscribe to historical newspapers that contain obituaries, including the San Diego Union and the Union Tribune. For more information about the library's newspaper holdings, see: https://libguides.sdsu.edu/newspapers/historical

Access to the online archives of these newspapers from off-campus is limited to current students, faculty, and staff and a SDSUid login is required. Members of the public may use these resources when they visit the library.

Please note: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the SDSU Library is closed. Since the SDSU Library is currently unavailable, members of the community may want to try the San Diego Public Library Newspaper Article/Obituary/ Death Notice Request service found at http://sdpl.libanswers.com/faq/250801 . Even though the SDPL libraries are closed to the public during the current public health crisis the staff are answering email and phones.
