ID or RedID vs SDSUid

What's the difference between my ID or RedID and my SDSUid?

Answer

Your RedID is a nine-digit number that begins with a 1 or an 8 and was given to you when you first applied to the university.

If you first attended SDSU in Fall 2022 or earlier, your RedID begins with an 8, and you can use the archived RedID lookup page to view your RedID.  If you first attended SDSUid after Fall 2022, your RedID begins with a 1, and you can view your RedID number in your my.SDSU account.  Simply log in with your SDSUid and password and click the Profile tile.  In the top left corner, you will see the word ID and a nine-digit number.  That nine-digit number is your RedID.

Your SDSUid is an @sdsu.edu email address and is your single identifier on campus that gives you access to many SDSU services including Canvas, Duo MFAGoogle Workspace, Microsoft Officemy.SDSU, student email via Gmail, and secure WiFi using eduroam.

More information about your SDSUid and the services it provides can be found on the SDSUid information page.  Don't forget to check out the FAQ and Manage sections.
